After having walked in the trace of the perfume (see below). A friend of mine suggested we should follow Hadrians wall across England. Read about how it went here.

The summer 1992 (ough, that's really a long time ago...), I went to Paris to complete my
computer science and telecommunication studies. To improve my french, I had bought the book "le parfum" by Patrick Süskind. As I lay on my bed, in the student hostel at rue Tolbiac 212, I was fascinated by the walk the main figure in the perfume, Jean Baptiste Grenouille, was doing. I had never heard of the places that were described in the book, such as Chateauneuf sur Loire. I put the book away, walked over the street to a library, and tried to find a map over France. By coincidence, the map I found, was the IGN 903, which covers all the walking tracks in France.
I put the map up on the wall next to my bed, found the places described in the book that far, and every time a new place was mentioned, I would check on the map to see where it was.
Since then, I guess the idea of doing the same walk myself, has been lying in the back of my mind. And this year, the time was right. Using my mobile, I wrote a diary on the way for my family and friends to be able to follow me. You can see how it went here.

The idea behind xBorrow is to allow people to share things they own with other people through borrowing.
I got the idea for xborrow in the autumn of 2003.
Since everyone today literally have their own libraries of DVD's, books etc. at home,
why not make these libraries available to your friends and family?

I started on the Expense Sharer project
the autumn of 2002. I started kite surfing this year, and when I went on kite tours with
my friends, we ended up doing a lot of calculations to find out who owed who how much when we got back.
Expense Sharer simplifies this process since you can keep track of the expenses on the tour.
One of the features that has been remarked in Expense Sharer is that it supports groups in groups,
i.e. when only a few persons in the group has had an expense.
The first version of Expense Sharer was released for Palm devices in may 2003. Then, the
autumn 2004 I started developing a version for J2ME. The first release for J2ME was in
january 2005.

xmlMax is a generic conduit and GUI for Palm which uploads/downloads and presents any database on the
palm by just specifiying the database format in a simple xml format. It was a "spin off" product
of Expense Sharer (see above), since I needed to transfer data from my Palm to PC.
I was surprised there was no generic conduit available for Palm, and decided to make one myself.

I wanted to use my Nokia N-Gage telephone to send photos by email and MMS.
Since it does not have a camera, my idea was to use my HP digital camera to
take photos, and then move the MMC to the N-Gage. However, it turned out the N-Gage
could not read these photos! I was able to send them as attachments in emails, but
I could not send them with MMS. I ended up making a Symbian program which extracts
the thumbnail images that are present in EXIF JPEG images and store them in a JFIF JPEG
format readable by the Nokia N-Gage. Read more here.
